Description

LR Classic pre-production release. Due to go into production in February 2021 LR Classic Number 3. A 1980 109 Stage One V8 soft top with only 36,000 miles. This Stage One V8 will undergo a full overhaul from a driveline overhaul, all nuts and bolts replaced and a full respray in either Arctic white or Masai red (colour to be decided). Keep an eye out for the latest news about this build on our social media platforms. History of the Stage one V8: From 1979 to 1985 the Stage 1 was built using the same components as the Range Rover and 101 forward control, such as the LT95 gearbox and the 3.5 litre V8 engines. Stage 1 refers to the first stage of investment by the British government in the company. Most of these models were exported as the larger engines were not sought after in the UK market. Meaning less than 80 off all the variants are now known to still be on the road in the UK. LR Classic offers full restorations to limited edition Land Rovers of bygone times, focusing on every detail to ensure the vehicle is the epitome of each rare model we meticulously rebuild. Our commitment to giving every vehicle a new lease of life is built upon with our small annual output of vehicles, meaning our team has more time to research, develop and restore these historic vehicles to their former immaculate glory. The average modern vehicle has a lifespan of just 13 years before it is scrapped. With LR Motors' dedication to ensuring we live in an environmentally friendly world, we are giving the average 20-40 year old Land Rover a new lease of life in order to provide it with a further 20-40 years of use. We source our parts and items as locally as possible, sometimes just 200 yards around the corner, meaning there are fewer shipment miles: a very different story for brand-new vehicles, commonly assembled overseas. LR Classic only produces around two to three vehicles per annum, ranging from pre-production Series I to 50th Anniversary Defender 90. We can offer a "click and collect" service, worldwide delivery and walk round videos. Please do get in touch for more details.
